Today we show you how
to continue to navigate the Quarantine Portal, showing more User Options
and how to use the email footer.

1. More User
Properties -
Select User Options,
then User
Properties.
In this area, one can adjust the spam filtering settings for their
account. We do suggest that if you have any questions, please call
our helpdesk before making any changes. Each area has a clickable Help & Examples guide which gives more in depth information for each area. Security Settings - You can change the spam filtering settings within this section. WARNING: Selecting Whitelisting changes the entire filter operation for your account. This means that ALL emails will be stopped unless they are in your Whitelist. Anyone not listed will be placed into the Quarantine list. The most common setting changes here will be under Content Filtering. If too many of your emails are going into Quarantine, change the setting to a higher number. If too many spam emails are coming through to your inbox, change this setting to a lower number. Address Settings - Only advanced users should touch this area. This can change (Mask) the outbound email address that outside users would see when receiving an email from this account. Quarantine Settings - If you do not want a daily Quarantine Summary sent to your inbox, deselect this option. Typically the summary only lists emails that score at 90. If you want more or less appearing in the summary, you can change this number. Address on the Fly, an advanced feature which is explained in Day 5's lesson can be disabled here for this account. Message Format Options - Formatting for Microsoft Outlook will be removed soon, disregard this. Add a note to outbound messages - This option allows a customized footer to automatically be added to every outbound emails. This is useful for some professions that require a disclaimer to be added. This can also be added enterprise wide. |

2. Email Footer -
By now you have
noticed a addition to each of the emails you receive. We'll
explain this powerful feature in this section. Couple quick notes
for understanding. 1. This footer only appears for any emails received from the Internet. No footers are added to email communications that are internal. Internal to Internal will not have a footer appearing. 2. This footer is automatically stripped if forwarded to someone OUTSIDE of your organization. A message forwarded to someone internally will see the footer. The following screen shot has each area color highlighted to help explain each area. Login
- Clicking will take you directly to the Quarantine Portal Message Score
- Shows what the email was rated/scored at. Information area - You can instantly block a sender or block an entire domain. We do not recommend blocking entire domains such as gmail.com, yahoo.com, msn.com, hotmail.com and other common domains as you might block legitimate senders. |
